A day after the UGC-NET was cancelled, senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi Thursday pointed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s silence on the issue, claiming he has “psychologically collapsed” after the Lok Sabha election.

At a press conference at the party headquarters in New Delhi, the Congress MP said: “The silence (on the examination issue) is because the prime minister is crippled. The Prime Minister’s main agenda is the Speaker. He is not bothered about NEET, or all these things.”

“The Prime Minister, if I may say so, is psychologically broken, psychologically collapsed. Knowing his personality, he will struggle to run a government like this. His idea of running a government is to frighten people, to make people not speak. Now what has happened is that people are not scared of him,” he said, pointing to a slipper thrown at the PM’s car in Varanasi.
