Parents and Urdu Schools Oppose 'One State One Uniform' Scheme Amid Delays in Distribution

The state government has taken the initiative to implement the ‘one state one uniform’ scheme in all schools. Under Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, students are given two new uniforms every year on the first day of school, though this year there is a delay of three-and-half months. However, parents have opposed the change in uniforms and therefore school management committees have refused to accept them, claims the Urdu teachers’ association.

The office-bearers of the All India Urdu Teachers’ Association have written to school education minister Deepak Kesarkar and the director of education, demanding that students in Urdu schools should get uniforms as was done previously….
