The Uttar Pradesh Minorities Commission has summoned the Muzaffarnagar District Magistrate and Basic Shiksha Adhikari over an incident of a seven-year-old boy being slapped by fellow students on the instructions of their teacher at a private school earlier this week.

The teacher, Tripta Tyagi, has also been asked to appear before the commission. In a letter dated August 25, commission president Ashfaq Saifi sought a reply in this regard from the District Magistrate before September 6 besides asking him to be present at the panel’s office along with the Basic Shiksha Adhikari and the teacher in question.
