Fee Hike Complaints: DPS Dwarka Gets DoE Notice, Calls it Illegal

Responding to a show-cause notice it received from the Directorate of Education (DoE) over complaints from parents that it was “harassing” them over fees, Delhi Public School (DPS) Dwarka said it was “arbitrary, illegal and devoid of any merit”, The Indian Express has learnt. It also called the DoE’s “threat” to withdraw its recognition “an act of high-handedness to harass the school”.

The notice issued on July 19 stated: “… Some parents of the school filed a written complaint with the DoE that school authorities are harassing them by issuing show-cause notices and telephonically intimidating (them) to pay illegal and inappropriate fees. It has also been alleged by parents that school authorities are refusing to issue school-leaving, transfer and provisional certificates to Class XII pass-outs unless the fees are paid… as per the school’s demands…”
