Andhra Pradesh House Debates Alleged 'Saffronisation' of Education

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh legislative council witnessed a heated exchange over the rationalisation of schools, with YSRCP MLC Ravindra Babu alleging that the new education system was saffronised. He accused the BJP-led central govt of inserting religious elements, including references to Hindu gods and teachings, into the syllabus

Minister for IT and Education, Nara Lokesh, dismissed these accusations as baseless and demanded their withdrawal. He assured the House that the syllabus remains neutral, free from any political or religious influence, and emphasized the need to keep education unbiased. Lokesh further clarified that the Union govt had not made Hindi compulsory but was instead focused on promoting and safeguarding mother tongues….
