Student Activist to File Petition in HC Against Police Surveillance and Harassment

Challenging harassment and constant surveillance from Kerala Police, Sharmina, a 24-year-old student activist and a member of Purogamana Yuvajana Prasthanam—a left movement—is planning to file a writ petition to quash the show-cause order for ‘breaching the peace’ in the Kerala High Court.
According to the report accessed by Maktoob, the ‘violent activities’ committed by the activist include participating in a public meeting commemorating Maoist leader Kavitha, attending a program in Nilambur town, Kerala, criticising the Ram Mandir verdict, and joining a gathering against an NIA raid on the houses of activists in Pandikkad, Malappuram.
