Swedish-Iranian Djalali previously worked as a doctor and researcher in disaster medicine at the Karolinska Institutet outside Stockholm.

He was in Iran to give lectures when he was arrested in April 2016 by the country's security service, accused of having given information about two Iranian nuclear scientists to the Israeli intelligence service Mossad. The two scientists were later liquidated, while Djalali was sentenced to death…
