Tata Institute of Social Sciences Mumbai Bans Left Student Group Progressive Students’ Forum

In a rare move by an  educational institution banning a student group,  Mumbai’s Tata Institute of Social Sciences issued an office order banning the left-ideology-associated student wing, Progressive Students’ Forum.

The office order by TISS Mumbai Registrar Prof. Anil Sutar on Monday reads: “This notice addresses a critical issue concerning the presence of an unauthorized and illegal forum on our campuses, reportedly the ‘Progressive Students’ Forum (PSF TISS).’ This group has been engaging in activities that obstruct the institute’s functions, defame the institute, demean members of our community, and create divisions among students and faculty. It has been observed that this group is misleading, distracting, and misguiding students from their academic pursuits and harmonious life on the campus.”…
