Part of JNU’s New MA Programme: Manipur Clashes, ‘Northeast Bharat’, Spread of Religions

Exploring “Northeast Bharat” as a conceptual entity, probing “why Hinduism could not spread in the hills while Christianity and Islam did”, and case studies on the Manipur clash — these topics will be part of the syllabus of the new Master’s programme at the Special Centre for the Study of North East India (SCSNEI) in the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), The Indian Express has learnt.

The proposal was discussed and approved in a special committee meeting of SCSNEI on September 29.

Structured as a two-year course with 80 credits, the Master of Arts in Northeast India and Area Studies aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020….
