JNUSU Slams Varsity for ‘Excluding’ Union from Academic Council Meeting

The newly elected Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU) on Thursday slammed the University administration for excluding the student body from the Academic Council meeting held on Thursday, calling the move “autocratic”.

A statement by JNUSU read: “This is to bring to everyone’s kind attention that there is an Academic Council meeting that is scheduled to be held on 28th March, 2024 at 3 PM. We, the elected JNUSU, were not invited to a meeting where decisions regarding the interest of the students are being discussed and made. We have been kept in the dark regarding the meeting or its agenda, and have not been invited officially. We have been continuously contacting the registrar but to no avail and no response from the Admin (either).”…
