‘Hijab not must in Islam’: Bombay HC Upholds Ban in College, Says It’s in Students’ Interest

The Bombay high court on Wednesday upheld the ban by a Chembur college on students wearing burqa, hijab or niqab on the campus, reports Rosy Sequeira.
"The objective behind prescribing the dress code is evident... the intention is a student's religion ought not to be revealed. It is in the larger academic interest of the students, for the administration and discipline of the college that this objective is achieved," said Justices AS Chandurkar and Rajesh Patil.
