In opposition to the DU administration sponsored event by this casteist group floated by ABVP, SFI DU held a parallel photo exhibition and open mic at Arts Faculty against the Saffronisation of DU and Normalisation of Casteist Politics.

Students from all over the University joined in to express their anger and exasperation at the blatant discrimination and casteism being propagated by ABVP and their fraternal organisations.

According to reports, the event scheduled to be held in the University’s Conference Centre was cancelled by the admin only because of pressure from progressive student organisations like SFI.

The students who joined the event read many of their own writings as well as of those like the prolific Dalit poet and writer Omprakash Valmiki.

The event concluded with a strong conviction against divisive forces and to strengthen the progressive students’ movement in the University.
